Rest and Relax - A collection

A lecturer was giving a lecture to his student on stress management.

He raised a glass of water and asked the audience, "How heavy do you think this glass of water is?"

The students' answers ranged from 20g to 500gm.

"It does not matter on the absolute weight. It depends on how long you hold it.

If I hold it for a minute, it is OK.

If I hold it for an hour, I will have an ache in my right arm.

If I hold it for a day, you will have to call an ambulance.

It is the exact same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."

"If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, we will not be able to carry on, the burden becoming increasingly heavier."

"What you have to do is to put the glass down, rest for a while before holding it up again."

We have to put down the burden periodically, so that we can be refreshed and are able to carry on.

So before you return home from work tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it back home. You can pick it up tomorrow.

Whatever burdens you are having now on your shoulders, let it down for a moment if you can.

Pick it up again later when you have rested...

How we face Problems in life mathematical way

Its quite interesting. 

Hope all you remember when you joined your school and first you learnt numbers. good. Now coming to the point. Let's remember the feeling when we have been given a task of addition, subtraction just as simple as 2+2 or 6-4 etc. It was indeed simple now and a little bit of panic at that time. counting fingers on hand and then toes. Sweets memories. Well after a year or so, tables comes into picture like 2,3,4 tables etc. "two two jar four", "three four jar twelve" again panic but goes on. you learnt it and gone over it and going forward.

Now tables are your pets as well multiplications, division and  you come across with algebra another fearful situation at class at home. quite a typical sets formulas like "a plus b whole square" equal to "a square plus b square plus two ab". My god you did it again feeling comfortable with algebra. relax and just look back for a moment. How silly all these additions, subtractions, tables etc. will look and remember the kind of hard time you went through during those days. 

Time never stops for anyone neither for our topic so lets move forward. Next as you go over your troubles of algebra and getting relaxed a new set of things will be inviting you like trigonometry, median, statistics, quantitative methods. I am sure quite a few of my friends reading this article would have been stopped solving their mathematical skills at some point. but any how whoever proceeds further its a challenge for them to attempt and taking them into their control the subjects pop up as problems or challenges as you see it. Again I repeat, just relax here and look back how silly even those algebra and trigonometry looks.

Now let me say few things about life the way I saw it. yes in mathematical way - Since childhood we come across all the problems and we start solving even from childhood as we go on solving we come across bigger and new one in quality and quantity. The more you take control of them you will be better equipped to take control of bigger problems or challenges as you see it. As I said after a few years you take a pause and look back everything seems to be very silly. but at the same time you may be directed to towards another  problem or challenge. Life is nothing but it goes mathematical way, It gives you a subject solve it and go to next level. if you are not solving and taking control of it. you will remain there all your life avoiding the problem, which you would have solved a long back and moved ahead.

Just see all these problems as challenges, Solutions are definitely there, we need brush up our knowledge or just ask someone to guide you. Its always better to overcome challenges and take control of them rather to avoid them.

A long way from me being genius by solving a sum 2+2 in my childhood to typing mathematical formulas and solutions on google search engine now. A long way looking back to life and as simple as future with the tools we have today.

Never Give Up............


One day I decided to quit...

I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality...

I wanted to quit my life.

I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.

"God", I said. "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"

His answer surprised me...

"Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"

"Yes", I replied.

"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of
them.
I gave them light. I gave them water.

The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the
floor.
Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed.

But I did not quit on the bamboo. In the second year the Fern grew more
vibrant and plentiful.

And again, nothing c ame from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the
bamboo. He said.

"In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would
not quit.

In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo see.

I would not quit." He said.

"Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth.


Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant...But just 6
months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.

It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and
gave it what it needed to survive.

I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle."

He said to me. "Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been
struggling, you have actually been growing roots"

"I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you."

"Don't compare yourself to others." He said. "The bamboo had a different
purpose than the fern. Yet they both make the forest beautiful."

"Your time will come", God said to me. "You will rise high"

"How high should I rise" I asked.

"How high will the bamboo rise" He asked in return.

"As high as it can" I questioned.

"Yes." He said, "Give me glory by rising as high as you can."

I left the forest and brought back this story.

I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you.

Never Give up.

So never say Die.

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death, you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If your parents are still alive and still married, you are very rare, even in the United States.

If you can hold someone's hand, hug them, or even touch them on the shoulder, you are blessed because you can offer healing touch.

If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful, you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.

If you can read this message, you have just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

As you read this and are reminded how life is in the rest of the world, remember just how blessed you really are.!

A collection - God Responds

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.

Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect himself from the elements, and to store his few possessions.

But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky. The worst had happened - everything was lost. He was stunned with grief and anger.

"God, how could you do this to me?" he cried.

Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It had come to rescue him.

"How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers.

"We saw your smoke signal," they replied.

It's easy to get discouraged sometimes when things appear to be going badly. But we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering. Remember, next time your little hut is burning to the ground, it just may be a smoke signal that summons the grace of God.

For all the negative things we have to say to ourselves, God has a positive answer for it.

Pass this on, you never know whose life may be in need of this today. There are some weeks that we all feel our huts are burning.
